The hard work of our members and board is what keeps this organization humming! Some of you who have not participated in Board meetings or studied our bylaws and membership application carefully might not realize that all but $20.00 of your membership dues go to the Association's National office. Our chapter is "rebated" just $20.00 for each new and renewed membership, so without your volunteer efforts (and scholarship fund contributions), we would have only $20.00 per member to get through the entire year. Given that our dinner meetings are break-even events (at best) and that the chapter supports student chapters, this means your active participation is essential to our success. It's a cliché, but it's true that the more you put into the organization, the more you get out of it. I challenge you to increase your participation in 2005 so that you (and the 2005 officers, and the entire chapter) will receive even more value from your membership! Sponsorships: The Providence Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) needs your help! In our focus on education, we will award scholarships each year to deserving students at local AITP collegiate chapters. The primary sources of these scholarship funds are our monthly meeetings, sponsor contributions and sponsor contributions to our monthly evening Tech Sessions. Why participate as a sponsor? Tremendous "bang for your buck" in exposure of your company's products and services to the IT decision-makers in the greater New England area, as well as knowing that your sponsorship dollars are going directly to help IT students at local universities. As our local membership continues to grow, we are attracting the CIO's, CTO's and the professionals who make purchasing decisions for IT products and services. Listed below are your sponsorship options: Monthly Tech Sessions Our monthly Tech Sessions are held at various venues in the evening, with emphasis on highly technical, leading edge topics. The attendees tend to be IT professionals who appreciate more in-depth discussion of hot IT topics like Microsoft.net and J2EE. Attendance is usually 25 -50 people. As a Tech Session sponsor, we ask for a donation directly to the scholarship fund of $100. You will be introduced at the Session and will be given 3-5 minutes to talk about your company. You also will be recognized in all email and hardcopy announcements of the meeting. Fall CIO Roundtable This fall, we will have a special Luncheon with several area CIO's participating in a panel discussion. We will have CIO's of a few major companies in the New England area join us for what should be an extremely well-attended event. Your sponsorship for this luncheon is $500.00 with the same benefits as in the regular evening meeting. If you have additional ideas on how to donate to our Scholarship Fund and gain valuable marketing exposure, we welcome all participation. Other possibilities include your providing door prizes for luncheons and tech sessions. These can be t-shirts or mugs or golf balls or something with your company logo on it. On a voluntary basis, members and guests can contribute $2 toward our scholarship fund, with the chance of winning a door prize.
