Position: Web Applications Developer

General:
Builds, designs and implements web-based applications to facilitate the success of the Group’s overall business intelligence and IT strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Team with the Director of Business Intelligence and colleagues to develop project protocols and to establish priorities for development of web-based applications. Participate in and/or lead project teams to ensure projects are progressing according to plan, to resolve problems, and identify roadblocks.
Interfaces with business leaders to identify key questions relating to business needs and information priorities. Develops project plans and implements applications and processes to meet these needs and priorities.
Apply approved software development methodologies while developing web-based applications to satisfy new and/or existing business needs.
Develop test plans and prototypes from system requirements and design.
Web-based development will consist of reporting applications, internal and external Portals and Portlets, and integration of ERP and non-ERP systems.
Fully documents applications and system processes, including detailed functional and technical documentation.
Prepares and participates in training end users and developing protocols for information interpretation.

Requirements:
Thorough understanding of Java and the J2EE platform (Portlets, Applets, EJB, JMS, etc.).
Web development and design using IBM WebSphere J2EE Application Server and WebSphere Portal Server.
Hands-on experience with ETL and UML tools.
Understanding of the Rational Unified Process for software development.
Experience with application integration through batch process, File transfer, and messaging.
Development of on-line reporting from Relational and OLAP database applications.
Implementation of internal roles-based security utilizing LDAP stores.
External security design for extranets.

Position: Programmer Analyst

General:
This position is responsible for data analysis and reporting using the Cognos PowerPlay suite, SQL Server, JD Edwards (DB2/400) and related tools. The candidate will support internal business users with ad-hoc queries and regular reporting. This team member will have responsibility for information delivery and business applications development focusing on Decision Support Systems (DSS) applications and sales reporting utilizing Cognos technologies that enable management and business users to make informed decisions to drive growth and profitability. The candidate should understand both the technical side (hardware and software) and business needs of the company, and must be able to transfer the business needs into a functional design that supports those needs. The candidate must be able to design and deliver a system within the framework of the Data Warehouse supporting the business requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, create, and support COGNOS Cubes and reports for use by internal customers
Document methodologies, requirements, data definitions, project plans, etc.
Create, deliver, and optimize periodic scheduled reports for internal business users
Test, monitor, manage, and validate data warehouse activity, including data extractions, transformation, and movement, loading, and updating processes.
Manage timely delivery of project deliverables.
Perform DBA duties.
Perform ad-hoc and exploratory data mining and reporting
Statistical analysis and data interpretation

Required Qualifications:
Experience with multi-dimensional business intelligence software and OLAP tools
Functional requirements using Sequel Sever platform and SQL relational database design.
System Administration functions for PowerPlay/Impromptu servers, including installation, configuration and support.
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in Marketing, Accounting and general business is a plus.
Experience reporting utilizing Impromptu/PowerPlay and IWR
Ability to multi-task multiple projects and work independently and assume additional responsibilities
Excellent inter-personal skills, positive attitude, and a positive team player.
Some travel may be required

Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with J.D. Edwards and Manugistics is a plus.
Experience with Win servers and AS/400
Data warehouse design, administration and maintenance skills highly desirable

Competencies:
3+ years of Impromptu & PowerPlay experience - candidate with COGNOS Tool Set expertise preferred
3+ years of experience constructing and implementing data warehouse and decision support solutions
Experience with data extraction and data cleansing methodologies
Experience with PL/SQL, scripting capabilities and other Oracle experience

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably including courses in computer science, business administration, mathematics, statistics or accounting.

Position: Database Administrator

General:
Designs, builds and maintains Oracle and SQL databases to support various mission critical applications such as Manugistics, Red Prairie, Cognos and other applications as necessary. Maintains operational data integrity to ensure mission critical data systems are available during hours of operation. Provides technical expertise to other IT disciplines to ensure that databases have proper support and back-up.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as technical lead for multi-site, multi-master Oracle DB cluster in a 24x7 operations environment. Maintain operational integrity of Oracle and SQL databases by ensuring database performance and availability and by monitoring space, CPU usage, fragmentation of data and by tuning queries, etc. Support day-to-day operations of Manugistics scripts. Reviews database design and provides input to DB architecture and design issues. Work with network engineers and software developers to coordinate integration and ensure compatibility of hardware, operating systems, database tools and applications. Develops procedures to ensure database integrity and security. Reviews change requests to ensure conformance with standards and enforces protocols involving changes to database structure, data and user access. Analyze future database needs with respect to applications to ensure database can support operational growth. Remains abreast of emerging technologies for application in current environment and long-term strategic initiatives. Develop disaster recovery procedures and educate users regarding database failure recovery, including on-line backups, archiving, warehousing, exports, etc. Reviews current processes for efficiency and make recommendations for improvements. Assists with complex problems - analyzing issues utilizing database tools. Maintain DB servers at current patch levels, following configuration management practices.

Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, IS or related field required.
Experience with Manugistics and S&OP processes required.
5 + years of Oracle DB development/administration experience.
3 + years experience in SQL 7.0 in a Microsoft environment is required.
Strong experience with SQL query writing, tuning, debugging, backup and recovery database optimization is required.
Must have background deploying Oracle RAC clusters and multi-site replication.
Advanced understanding of security, encryption and replication technologies.
Proven experience supporting 24x7 high volume production OLTP databases.
Must have experience developing and deploying disaster recovery plans.
Must have experience with DB performance tuning and capacity planning.
Telephony and telecommunications experience a plus.
Strong teamwork approach and customer service focus is required.
