October 2000 Meeting e-Learning for the Knowledge Economy™ Speaker: Doug King of SkillSoft Corporation. How can e-Learning sharply accelerate enterprise-wide learning? e-Learning breaks down the barriers that traditional learning approaches present to accelerating organizational learning. e-Learning enables access to vast repositories of business learning resources. e-Learning is accessible worldwide, cost-effectively, by every employee, 7-by-24... at work, at home, or on the road. e-Learning leverages the power of the Web to quickly search and locate specific resources needed to the immediate task-at-hand. Doug King has over 19 years of experience in the software industry, 12 years of which he has specialized in the high technology/networking industry and 7 years in the education and training field. Doug is responsible for the management of sales organization for the eastern region with 13 direct reports. Prior to joining SkillSoft in July of 1998, Doug worked for 4 years at CBT Systems, a leading provider of Information Technology computer-based training solutions. He began in 1994 as a Regional Account Manager and worked his way to Director of Global Markets, managing sales and being responsible for 16 direct reports. Prior to CBT, Doug worked at Ungermann-Bass, Inc. for over 5 years, and again worked his way up from working as a Senior Account Representative to being responsible for P/L sales Operations as the New England District Sales Manager. Other companies at which Doug gained his sales experience include Spectrum Interactive, Coulter King Limited and Wang Laboratories. Doug holds a B.S. degree from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. |
