November 2000 Meeting Why You Need to Learn about XML Speaker: Neil Hannon XML is one of the hottest topics to hit the Information Technology scene since the Web browser. Since reaching recommendation status in 1998, the adoption rate for XML has climbed sharply. Come to the meeting and find out why you should learn about XML and how it may be applied in your company. Neal Hannon has been writing and giving seminars about the Internet since 1996. Hannon has authored a book, The Business of the Internet, as well as numerous articles for business magazines. Neal joined the XBRL.org steering committee in July of 2000 and in August was named as the IMA's voting representative to XBRL.org. In September, Hannon was appointed co-chair of the XBRL.org's education committee. A member of the Accounting Department faculty at Bryant College, Neal was instrumental in starting the Bryant College XBRL Educational Resource Center. |
