XML ... THE NEXT ONLINE RESUMÉ FORMAT?

Everybody keeps their resumé current these days, typically maintained in a word processing (e.g. .DOC) format.  In our increasingly web-based world, employers are asking for resumés in other formats, such as straight text (.TXT) that can be included in the body of an e-mail. Someday, perhaps very soon, resumé submissions may be formatted in XML/XSL. Find out why at this minimally technical overview, divided into:

About Pete Haynsworth:

Pete Haynsworth is an independent information technology contractor. His clients over the past 4 years have included Fleet Capital Corp, Sovereign Bank, Gtech, the Kuwait Defense Ministry, and Brown Medical School.
He specializes in data management and reporting, financial & business systems analysis, and web content extraction and 're-purposing.' He has been a conference speaker on artificial intelligence and business credit analysis systems.

He received a BS in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has worked for several regional banks as a business credit risk and systems manager, and was a flight instructor, carrier pilot, ocean patrol plane commander, and war games umpire in the US Navy.
