May 25, 2004 Meeting Out Of Ad Hoc into Maturity Guest Speaker: Ann Danby
Please join us for an exciting evening with Software Quality Associates of Providence, RI as they present “Out of Ad Hoc into Maturity”. A little bit of planning now can produce a successful, efficient software process later. We are all very familiar with adrenaline charged; take no prisoners approach to software development. For quality professionals, this is a very painful state. We often hear: "Just test the stuff that is broken", "Are you done yet", "Just tell me the critical things", "Process will slow us down" and so on. These environments typically rely on a hero culture to get the job done. A mature organization forms a team that will work cohesively to build a good product using a realistic process. It is the job of the QA professional to sell why it makes sense to introduce change into this environment. Primary areas of change that should be considered are: Requirements Management, Project Management and Software Quality Assurance.
This talk will touch upon these primary areas by presenting successful changes that we have observed or implemented.
